ZIP/Postal Code not required on purchases of $500 or less

We’ve simplified using your credit card by removing the need for ZIP/Postal Code on most purchases.

 

Sandbox allows email password reset

Previously sandbox users were required to contact support to reset a forgotten or lost password. Setting up and maintaining your Sandbox account to test new Tinypass integrations just got easier if you have lost or forgotten your password.

 

Downloadable CSV reports clarified

To clarify the meaning of columns in CSV exports, when they refer to dollar amounts the column name will feature a $, when they refer to counts they will feature a #, and when they refer to dates, the word ‘Date’ will appear in the header.

The exact meaning of certain columns in our reports was confusing to some customers, so we’ve made changes to clarify those columns. Previously, we would realize refunds on the date the refunded charge was initially processed, resulting in occasional changes to previous days’ data. We now realize all refunds and cancels on the day they are executed so each day you can calculate your daily subscriber snapshot as:

This report has been clarified to record all new subscriptions and cancellations on the day they are executed, such that most columns should be unchanged by future events.

Fixed: Confusing conversion rates

The way we counted trials in conversion rate was incorrect and created unexpected results for users with large numbers of trials. The data has been corrected and should reflect this change today.

User logins were tracked incorrectly as impressions within the purchase process. This has been corrected and will no longer affect new data going forward. This miscount may have artificially inflated the number of initial impressions, artificially reducing conversion rate.

Fixed: Trials not counted as New Subscriptions in Subscription Summary Report

While a trial subscription (free or otherwise) was counted as a New Subscription in the details report, it was not added to the summary under the “# of New Subscriptions” column.

Now, even though a trial may be reduced price or free, it is counted with the New data in the Subscription Summary Report, reflecting the intuitive understanding from the detail view.

The first step - signing up

Signing up for a publisher account is FREE and you are not committed to ANYTHING. If you are deciding between software products other than Piano, we encourage you to just type in a few things and sign up for an account so that you can poke around the publisher dashboard. Seriously... just sign up for an account. When you sign up for an account, you'll automatically be in trial mode. After you update your business information, then you can submit your application for review. It usually takes us less than 24 hours to approve/deny an application. For more information about our approval process, check out the Registration & Application section.

Getting paid

Thirty days after a transaction takes place, you can withdraw the money. We have this waiting period to protect you (and us) from dealing with refunds, chargebacks, and business disasters. You can get paid by check, direct deposit wire transfer, DWOLLA, or Paypal.

How does Piano make money?

"Wait, is it actually free?" Well obviously it's not free. We take a percentage of each transaction to cover payment processing fees. Please contact support@Piano.io for our fees. You may find yourself thinking I could be charged directly by the payment provider if I used Stripe or PayPal..."  But unlike those payment gateways, we let you control access to content, customize site experiences, set business rules, manage user accounts, view analytics, and provide end-user customer service.
