Google Analytics & Piano integration
Odds are that you are using Google Analytics to track all sorts of data on your website, and you should be! If you implement Piano on your site, your users will now have an additional experience that we know you would love to track. That is why we developed a simple but powerful integration with GA! In fact, we don’t even need to list the steps to getting it set up… because there is just one.
Just paste your GA code into the appropriate section under your “Edit business” page, and you’re done!
GA Events in the Piano ticket
Once you paste the code into your “Edit business” page and hit save, your GA tracker will start to gather data from the Piano purchase process.
In your GA events reporting section, the events are split into three categories: Paywall, Video, and Ticket. The paywall category just tracks when the Curtain is shown, and the Ticket category tracks more complicated events throughout the purchase process.
User purchases access and selects offer: movement from (cat: paywall act: show offer) > (cat: ticket act: select payment) > (cat: ticket act: receipt).
You’ll see that with the API, no curtain is launched and the user selects the pricing option they want on your site in order to launch a ticket.
User has already purchased access: movement from (cat: paywall act: show offer) > (cat: ticket act: login page) > (cat: ticket act: already purchased).
User needs to select offer coming from the API: movement from (cat: paywall act: show offer) > (cat: ticket act: login page) > (cat: ticket act: already purchased).
